What tees are for energy? The tee is a clothing item, worn to show some off, to advertise a business, or just as a fun fashion accessory. Regardless of why you wear them, they are an energy commodity just like any other t-shirt.

But, how much are we really consuming? Well, most of us are not walking around with a carton of free energy, but do we know the impact of our behavior on the energy that we are expending? It’s time to look at the impact of tees and other clothing choices on our environmental footprint.

Let’s start with the ever-popular cotton shirt. Cotton is one of the most durable and long-lasting fibers on the planet. Unfortunately, the cotton industry relies on the continued shrinking of the world’s population to keep making these products. What this means is that more of the cotton that is produced will be utilized for clothes that have limited, if any, beneficial uses. In other words, cotton is hurting the planet while helping the manufacturers.

Wool is another fiber that is very sustainable, and it is widely used in manufacturing textiles for both clothing and other purposes. However, most of us are not walking around with wool shirts on or using wool fibers in building our homes or heating our homes. In addition, most wool products, including socks, linens, and blankets, contain significant amounts of mercury, a toxic chemical compound. Many people have allergies and are sensitive to the chemicals contained in many wool products.

Some might say that jeans are a bigger drain on energy than shirts since we generally spend more time wearing jeans, but they do have an impact on our energy bills. Just like your car’s gas tank, our bodies use up fuel every minute of the day. Unwanted fat cells produce energy (it’s called the energy of calories) which, depending on your height and weight, you can use up to about seven pounds of stored energy per day. What t-shirts are for energy, then, is to provide a source of stored energy so that you don’t have to drive as far as possible, and you don’t have to burn as much fuel.

One of the main reasons that t-shirts have been marketed as “green” and “alternative” is due to the fact that many of them are made from natural fibers, such as cotton. The fibers absorb water and become lightweight. That way, you can use less water for washing and drying. Many people with serious eczema problems have found relief by wearing these types of t-shirts. If you don’t have a problem with skin irritation or eczema, you might find that wearing one of these for a few hours each day is enough to give you relief from allergies and other symptoms that occur when your body is exposed to irritants and pollutants. You’ll feel much better after a couple of hours of wearing the t-shirts, too.

There are many different uses for t-shirts. They can be worn to keep warm in the winter months, to make a great lunchtime outfit, or for lounging around after a hard day at work. Whatever your activities, you’re guaranteed to find a use for them!

Of course, many people wear t-shirts because they like the way they look, or because they are comfortable and functional. But the real reason that people buy them in the first place is that they provide an efficient means of conserving energy. By using them every day, you will dramatically reduce your carbon footprint. Not only will you feel good about saving the world, but you’ll feel good about yourself, too! So if you’re looking for what tees are for energy, look for organic and sustainable materials that won’t harm the planet and you’ll get more than just stylish clothing.
